Bring to your classroom the wonder and excitement of seeing the life cycles of the Monarch Butterfly. This school visit is a hands on, inquiry-based lesson incorporating live Monarch butterfly caterpillars.
A School Visit Includes:
- 45 - 60 minute presentation.
- Viewing of live Monarch butterfly caterpillars.
- A slide show/video showing the process of metamorphasis of the Monarch butterfly.
- Viewing of “Pupa Dance” and/or emergence of adult butterflies *.
- Question and Answer Period.
- Age appropriate follow up art/activity to enhance what was just learned.

* A caterpillar will not pupate before it’s time, nor will a butterfly emerge before it’s ready, so while live viewing of these events at your school visit cannot be guaranteed, this stage will be included in the presentation. Butterfly releases are weather dependent.
